Give more of yourself to GIRL – Noby Noby Boy Lucky Week

May 17th, 2009 | Category: News

nob

For those of you who don’t check o–o very often [like me] you’ll be pleased to hear that Noby Noby Boy is having a lucky week!

What does this mean for you? Well, when you submit length to GIRL sometimes the fairy will randomly multiply it. For instance, I submitted 30,000 meters to GIRL, and fairy gave me 8x the amount I had originally. So for those of you who were frustrated by the fact we still had 75 billion more meters until mars, perhaps this will aid us in our quest!

Lucky Week started May 15th, and will end on May 22nd.

Here’s some videos to hold you over until mars is reached:

BFM Podcast 009 – Protect me, please!

May 15th, 2009 | Category: BFM Podcast,Downloads

Finally, episode 5 out of 5 for our “OMG let’s celebrate our fifth episode by making five episodes!” extravaganza spectacular. We hope you all enjoyed the blitzkrieg of podcasts that came your way. This episode’s segment focuses on moe culture. Moe is the Japanese subculture that’s been flooding most anime these days. Those cute characters that just beg to be protected. It’s that sort of thing. We also talk a bit about anime we’ve been watching recently such as Eden of the East, Strawberry 100%, and Azumanga Daioh. If all this is greek to you, check out our youtube account at the bottom of the page. We make playlists consisting of things relevant to the episode so you won’t be lost!

What’s your DAY?

Segment: Moe – K-ON, The Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star

Agenda: Anime – Azumanga Daioh, Eden of the East, Strawberry 100%

BS and/or Wrap-Up:  EAR PWR, Zen Pinball (PS3).  This is where we wrap up our 5 episode extravaganza thing, and say things we’d rather say instead of waiting two weeks.

BFM Podcast 008 – Games As Art

May 14th, 2009 | Category: Article,BFM Podcast,Downloads,Videos

Part 4 out of 5 podcasts we’re recording this week. Unfortunately, I did not schedule a special guest for this episode. Unless you’d like to consider alcohol as the third wheel in this relationship, then I guess we did have a guest tonight! In this episode we discuss Games as an art form. You know, games that make a point. Games that go beyond the guns, the pigskin, and the testosterone bleeding from the seams.

We also talk about some movies. Namely, Observe and Report and also the new Star Trek film. House MD and Dollhouse round out the TV segment.

Also, remember episode five, where I talked about making a noise music AMV?

Intro-

What’s your DAY

Segment: Games as Art -- What makes a game artistic? As opposed to…just “pretty looking”. That sort of thing. You’ll understand.

Agenda: Movies/TV -- House. Dollhouse. Star Trek. Observe and Report.

Tomorrow will be our final episode in this quintet of awesomeness. We will be discussing Moe’ culture. Yeah. It’s an anime thing. I don’t quite understand it myself, but we can all learn together! And then get upset that every new anime has too much moe, and you want to strangle something.

BFM Podcast 007 – Sweet Sixteen

May 13th, 2009 | Category: BFM Podcast,Downloads

This is part 3 of 5 of our very special “Let’s record every day” podcast thing! Today we have Mark Senger from PSnation joining us to talk about 16-bit gaming [hence the title].  We talk a little bit about SNES, Genesis, and Turbo-Grafx 16. We mention your classic favorites and also give you some must-play suggestions. We also cover modern 16-bit gaming for the Genesis that can be seen in new games like Pier Solar or translations like Beggar Prince. We even take some time to discuss the more obscure 16-bit systems like Neo Geo Pocket Color and the amazing Sega CD.

Tony and I created some promos for our show. They are all roughly the same concept, but each with a different ending. Imagine it’s a happy meal. There’s always the same burger and fries, but the toy is always different. Check out our promos.

Intro -

What’s Your Week?

Segment: 16-bit gaming. Bit by bit, you build my childhood.

Agenda: Video Games

Check us out tomorrow for our segment on “Games as Art”. It’s the episode where we throw NES carts at a wall and call it art… Actually, on second thought, I mean games like Shadow of the Colossus, Braid, Everyday Shooter, and Flower.

We also have a special guest today joining us; Cat from Sisters in Gaming podcast.  She will share her personal experiences on the subject of casual gaming and read some really funny Craigslist “Missed Connections” with us.

This is part 1 of our 5 day mini-series. Today’s show is about noise music! We are changing up our schedule a little bit to accomodate for the shorter shows. Yes, that’s right we are recording 5 shows this week, and this is only the beginning! There will be some guests, so be sure to tune in and hear someone else’s voice for a change!

Check out our youtube playlist which features most of the bands discussed here today. There is only room to embed 1 youtube video without looking tacky. It’s up to you, whether you want to be informed about how these artists sound before or after you listen to our show. So please, check out the youtube playlist
